Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

Leeloo
Leeloo's mom was pulled from a high kill shelter very pregnant. Her pregnancy and birth was very hard and 2 of the babies did not make it. Leeloo was one of 6 puppies that did make it and was born on 06/23/08.
Leeloo was adopted out only to be returned due to being deaf. She went into a foster home that started to work on hand signals. Then a wonderful family inquired about Leeloo. We talked to them about the difficulties of raising a deaf dog but they did not care and were determined to make it work. THEY DID!!! They worked hard to make her part of their family.
Leeloo started to have some problems with her bowels. The family took her to local vets and then on to specialty vets sparing no expense. They tried everything...special food and numerous tests before being referred to OSU. The testing continued at Ohio State even though this was financially draining on the family. Leeloo was finally diagnosed and it looked like they finally had an answer. She was doing well for awhile and it looked like the worst was behind them. Then she took another turn for the worst. They took her back to OSU only to find out the first diagnosis was wrong. Leeloo was correctly diagnosed with a fatal kidney disease. She only had a matter of time, but the family continued to do what they could. On June 12,2010 Leeloo lost her battle and passed with her family by her side. She would have been only 2yrs old on June 23,2010. She had a wonderful life and gave her family so much love. She will be missed.

Lily
Lilly was a cocker spaniel that we pulled from a puppymill. This dog was so badly scarred and only around a 2yr old that we felt strongly about putting her down. But one of the fosters husband saw something in her and wanted to try. Wow, what great a great dog she turned out to be and she found a wonderful family to call her own. They adored Lilly and today she lost her life to what they believe was liver failure. It took her very fast. Our prayers are with her family. She touched so many lives.
Roxy (formerly Squirt)
R.I.P Roxy d. 10/14/2010 So little and yet so big in the ways that make life matter. Although we only had Roxy for only three years, she filled every space and heart with joy. She was old and frail when she came to us but her spirit was full of adventure. She loved to travel, camp and hike in her pooch pouch. It was as if she were determined to make the most of every moment with us and her two amigos, Peanut and Chico, and she did.
Braya Braya was only with us a short time and found the perfect family. Braya left this world 12/11/10 shortly after being adopted by a wonderful family and they miss her dearly.
Cooper
Such a sweety. I still can't believe he is gone. He was just my sweet sweet boy. We had a special bond. You know, one of those once in a lifetime relationships.
